I think I was given a copy of True Blood Season 1 on DVD on my first day or within the first week of working at Corus. Within a few weeks of my then internship, there was an internal advance screening for the True Blood Season 2 premiere, which I skipped.
Now, more than three years after the first episode of True Blood premiered on HBO, and two and a half years after working on HBO Canada, I finally finished watching Season 1. Took me long enough!
Some of my favourite quotes from True Blood Season 1:
“I am not human, Sookie. I am vampire.” - Bill
“Now you think I got a motherfucking demon? Bitch, you as fucked up as your bus.” - Tara
“Who am I to try to change what comes naturally to you?” - Bill to Sookie
“Shut the fuck up!” - Sookie to Bill after learning he’s a shape-shifter
Every time Bill says “I am vampire” or when he says “Sookie” with his ridiculous (but sexy) accent, I can’t help it but laugh.
Other thoughts on this season:
- Jason Stackhouse is so. damn. stupid.
- That Sookie-Bill sex scene in the cemetery… really? Really?! REALLY?!
- Is Andy Bellefleur’s cell phone ringtone the original Hawaii 5-0 theme song?
I’m already three episodes into Season 2. I can’t wait to be completely caught up—especially since I already know what happens in most of the series thus far! Occupational hazard ;)
